About Lantern Festival
Our Inspiration
During the Lantern Festival, children go out at night carrying paper lanterns and solving the riddles attached to them. The lanterns were relatively simple in ancient times as only the emperor and noblemen had large ornate lanterns. However, in modern times lanterns have been embellished with many complex shapes and designs. Lanterns can symbolize the people letting go of their past and embracing the future for the new year. The lanterns are usually red which symbolizes good fortune.
Costume Information
